Step 2Doctor’s Examination | The doctor will visually inspect and physically examine the breasts and armpit areas (lymph nodes). |
Step 3Imaging Tests | To look inside the breast:• Mammogram – for women over 40• Ultrasound (Sonogram) – good for younger women or dense breast tissue• MRI – for more detailed imaging when needed |
Step 4Biopsy (Tissue Test) | If something suspicious is found in imaging:• Core Needle Biopsy – tissue is collected under local anesthesia• Fine Needle Aspiration – quick method to collect cells |
Step 5Staging (Check Spread) | If diagnosed with breast cancer, tests check how far it has spread:• CT or PET-CT scan – checks other organs• Bone scan – checks bones• Hormone receptor & HER2 tests – helps plan treatment |
Step 6Treatment Plan | Based on all results, a personalized treatment plan is created:• Surgery• Chemotherapy• Hormonal therapy• Targeted therapy |
